For lernu! to exist and function, unfortunately we need more than just wonderful collaborators. To be able to accommodate many users, lernu! uses an expensive web server. To be able to keep up with evolution of the internet and internet technologies, to grow and improve, lernu! needs diligent programmers. So that users have constant support and answers to their question in the right language and from the right person, someone must be available to coordinate that. In addition, lernu! wants to take a more active role in informing the public about Esperanto, reward the most diligent users of the site, and expand learning tools and dictionaries in Esperanto, and also that obviously costs money.
