Had a question on Google+ about QR code name. I went for "Kuron ĉifron, Kuo Ro" but because it is named Quick Response perhaps Roro "Rapide Respondo"?

Your thoughts?

I don't quite understand you, a QR code name? I think just something like *eo lingvo* will do or something like that... or I don't understand you.

A QR Code is a two-dimensional analogue of a bar code, a digital matrix.

I suggest matrica kodo, or QR-kodo if "QR" is considered an international symbol like the mathematical "sin" and "cos".

Sorry demian3. I'll explain, and I don't think matrica kodo would work Miland because QR code is the name of a 2d matrix scanner code, hence why I called it a name, but I do like your suggestion, rolls off the tongue really nice.

The code is called Quick Respond code developed by Toyota. It now carries an international standard, but there are still many matrix or 2d codes, including a colour 2d matrix code as well.

This one has the three box in box keys seen in the corners and used often now to send your mobile device to a web page, I think this is because there is no royalty on its use, or the royalties are not pursued.
Other suggestions I got were dudimensian kodon and QRan ĉifron another I like that rolls of the tongue.

Sorry about the rude assumption every one knows what a QR code is.

edit, sorry Miland, just saw you linked the wiki.

According to Wikipedia, it seems every language uses "QR" in the name, they just alter the word for 'code'. Take Chinese, for example: "QR碼".

So, in Esperanto it would be 'QR-kodo'.

If initials are going to be used, then RR-kodo for rapida responda kodo.
