Uvi:

However, I've found a Polish rap artist (who lives in Japan) which I really like. His beats are good, a bit on the crump side (Lil' Wayne style) but with meaningful, yet easy-to-follow lyrics. His name is Eterne Rima.

This is his MySpace: www.myspace.com/eternerima and this is his account on iPernity: www.ipernity.com/home/eternerima - he posts music on them regularly. I think he's releasing an album online this month.
I made some karaokeo versions of Eterne Rima's stuff to push esperanto hiphopo. The next karaokeumo event will be at the JES/Zakopane/Polando meeting.

gbx,

I strongly agree that Esperanto is far too absent in the world of electronic music. Especially in the non-vocal music, but so are most languages.

Thanks for the link!!

I'm downloading it right now rido.gif

Looking at the track listing, the only 2 artists I know are Eterne Rima and Pafklik. I'm not too crazy about Pafklik; they're not very credible in terms of sound, lyrics or overall style and they make rap mocked at to those familiar with urban culture. But I guess I have to give them credit for pioneering the genre in Esperanto.

In my free time, I produce urban music beats (rap, r&b, electronica, house & reggeton). I'm strongly considering giving a shout to Eterne and suggesting a collabo or something.

Could be tremendous fun!!

Haha!! That beat from Verdadisco is actually ripped from a New York DJ called Frankie Cutlass. I can't seem to remember the exact title of the song, but it came out around 1998.

I agree with you, there should be more reggae, and a heck of a lot more nightclub music as well.

A guy who would come out with something hard-hitting, upbeat and intense, like Daddy Yankee's sound on this track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA4H_di23GI&fea... or like Aventura http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQi672Mqwe0 would be worthy of mainstream top-charts worldwide and contribute to brand Esperanto as a cool, modern and relevant language for the modern world.

Another formula that would work and would present beginning adepts of Esperanto with a fun way to learn the language would be artists doing some very simple Euro-Pop, like O-Zone's Dragostea Din Tei (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRx5PrAlUdY)

Man, I'm getting hyped up just imagining it.

Perhaps one day okulumo.gif

Just getting one Esperanto artist to the Eurovision contest would be amazing!!

I'd definitely be interested in working with Eterne if I could manage to get his interest.

I'll keep you updated on that okulumo.gif
