Hi.
First time I heard about esperanto, was when I read about a international language, and I wondered what that was. It wasn't difficult to get more info about esperanto. In my local biblio' was it just a few books about it- the last from 1987 (when it was 4 bill. peoples on the earth and still not any Internett). But on Internet was it not like that. I found a hole world of esperanto on the web! I decided me to learn esperanto very quickly. I was shortly stuck on esperanto. I have taken a few courses in esperanto.
But, what kind of experience have you out there with esperanto? When and how did you hear about it?

Thanks for answers!

Saluton!

I actually first began learning Esperanto on a whim, around Christmas of last year.  I had already heard about it from reading about the movie "Incubus" (which was filmed in Esperanto), so one day I typed in "Esperanto" on Google for some reason I don't remember anymore, came across some basic information, and decided that it would be fun to learn.  Sure enough, I've had great fun learning the language and learning about Esperanto culture.

Saluton, denove!

Fun to see that so many like esperanto! I have heard that 1 million peoples talk esperanto, but I aim't sure. Is it someone who know what the correct number is?

The number really depends on who you ask. The number I hear most often is around 2 million.

2 millions? Ok.
