"jaŭda vespero" aŭ "jaŭdo vespere"

I'm wondering whether there's any preference regarding "jaŭda vespero" or "jaŭdo vespere" or if they are much of a muchness. My inclination was to write "jaŭda vespero" but now I wonder.

Is it simply a matter of taste and style, or does some rule come into play?

Definitely ĵaudo vespere. The expression defines a point in time. It's ĵaŭdo after all.
 
  • Ĉu vi povas veni ĵaŭdo vespere?
If it were ĵaŭda, then there should be a noun which the adjective describes

Veni jaŭdon. Bedaŭrinde, tio ne eblas.

@metsis: In "jaŭda vespero" the noun is "vespero" which the adjective "jaŭda" describes (specifying which vespero is meant).

Dankon al ĉiuj, kiuj respondis. Ŝajnas al mi, ke ambaŭ konstruaĵoj estas eble (kaj ankaŭ klaraj).
