Just a heads-up to anyone who uses Transparent Language's word of the day as part of their learning: the example sentences are, as of late, almost invariably incorrect, sometimes to the point of incomprehensibility.

I would discourage learners from taking this source seriously. Do we know who is providing the translations? Some of the material looks suspiciously like Google Translate. Recent samples:

March 12: Ĉi tiu libro estas tute diferencas de la alia libro. - Doubled main verb.
April 3: Mi estis negita bankan prunton. - Wrong use of cases, attempt to literally translate an idiomatic English expression.
April 4: Vi scias ke, mi ne parolas hispane. - Improper punctuation.
April 6: Ĝi ŝajnas ke, iu havas kazon de las lundoj! - Wrong use of pronoun, improper punctuation, English idiom, there is no las in Esperanto ....
April 9: Mi elektis la malĝustan semajnan por haltas flaresplori gluo. - I don't even know where to start with this one.

Interestingly, most of the sentences from March are better, though perhaps not very natural-sounding.

What's the Esperanto for 'face-palm'? Some of these are so dire even I would know better. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well, I just tinkered around with the example sentences in Google Translate, and it doesn't seem to have been used (its suggestions, ironically, are actually marginally better than those provided).

Sounds like someone needs to hire a real Esperantophone.

And again, for April 10:

Ili diras ke, la tempo estas la fajro en kiu ni brulas. - Poor punctuation, incorrect pronoun (should be oni) ...

I'm trying to find an appropriate contact address to inform them of the problem; unfortunately, the "Contact Us" link takes me to a form that asks for lots of personal information.

I hope not too many Esperanto-learners are being misled by this site.

Yep, I subscribe too, and I have noticed the recent dive in quality. The glue sniffing was really weird.

Anyway, I've been thinking... If someone could source me a years worth of free sentences, I could make one of these really easily.

UPDATE: I have recently reviewed the file with the sentences and with the help of my family, re-recorded all the audio for Transparent Language. I left as many of the original sentences as I could, but I corrected quite a few and wrote some new ones. It should be much more reliable now.
