Mi scias ke bedaŭros elekti Esperanton por ĉi tiu diskuto, ĉar mia Esperanto is tre malbona. Sed ni penos ĝin.

Mi trovis ĉi tiun artikolon, kaj mi prepensis ke ĝin estis interesa.

Pardonu min pro miaj eraroj. Bonvolu korektu min.

Ho,Ŝekspiro,kiu estas tre fama verkisto.Eĉ en la teorio Nakamura estas lia nomo!

Kaj pri ĉi tiuj vortoj
PrimeMinisterK:

ĉar mia Esperanto is tre malbona. Sed ni penos ĝin.

mi prepensis ke ĝin estis interesa.
Laŭ mi,vi devus diri:
is→estas
prepensis→pensis
ĝin→ĝi

(in order to understand my sentences, please use lernu's dictionnary. Please ask me if there are words that aren't in the dictionnary and that you don't understand.
I underlined the correlatives)
Vi ne faris tiom multe da eraroj, sciante, ke vi estas nur novbakita (=komencanto).

[ to be = esti
La prezenco --> -as
Tial my Esperanto is = mia Esperanto estas

to think about = pensi pri, pri-pensi (we usually write it "pripensi").
La preterito --> -is
Tial oni diras "Mi pripensis"

Tamen "pripensi" ne estas taŭga tiu-kaze. Simple diru "mi pensis, ke...", mi petas.
ĝin estis interesa
it = ĝi
La subjekto tiufraze estas "ĝi". Tial vi ne devis skribi la akuzativon. Kaj en Esperanto, la harmon-igo de la gramatikaj tempoj estas malsamaj, kaj miaopinie pli logikaj.
I saw a cat that was nice Se tiu kato estas ankoraŭ afabla, do la taŭga Esperantigo estas "Mi vidis katon, kiu estas afabla".
Do, se vi pensas, ke tiu artikolo estas ankoraŭ interesa (supozeble jes!), bonvolu diri "estas".
Jen la plena, senerarigita (=corrected) frazo:
Mi trovis ĉi tiun artikolon, kaj mi pensis, ke ĝi estas interesa
"bonvolu korektu min" --> "bonvolu korekti min". Tiun eraron ĉiuj komencantoj faras, do ne paniku. Vi studos ĝin pli malfrue en la teorio Nakamura.

Mi esperas, ke mi sukcesos helpi iom alvi, kaj ke vi komprenos kelkajn vortojn okulumo.gif.

flanke:Ho,Ŝekspiro,kiu estas tre fama verkisto.
Jes, tre fama verkisto. Mi scias ke Hamleton tradukis laŭ Zamenhof, kaj mi volas legi ĝin. Ankaŭ mi sciias ke jen alia traduko, laŭ L.N.M. Newell. Iuj personoj diras ke la traduko de Newell estas pli bona ol la traduko de Zamenhof.

Ekzemple, la katalogo de Esperanto-USA diras pri la traduko de Newell, "A modern translation which successfully reproduces the beauty of the original." Sed pri la traduko de Zamenhof: "A reference book for the serious Esperantist." Simile, la verkisto de la artikolo mencias ke Marjorie Boulton diras ke la traduko de Zamenhof estas "perhaps competent rather than brilliant, but it is a good translation – readable, speakable, actable, generally a fair rendering of the original." Nur "a fair rendering of the original," ne bonega verko.

Mi volas legi ambaŭ, kaj kompari ilin. La traduko de Zamenhof estas la originalo, tial klasikaĵo.

Mi esperas ke vi povas kompreni, kaj mi ne faras multajn erarojn. Dankon, vortaro!

flanke:Eĉ en la teorio Nakamura estas lia nomo!
Ĉi tie mi ne komprenas "eĉ." In la angla lingvo, diras: "At in La teorio Nakamura. . ." Kial ambaŭ eĉ kaj en?

flanke:
ĉar mia Esperanto is tre malbona. Sed ni penos ĝin.
Ho, jes. Mi miksis lingvojn.

flanke:mi prepensis ke ĝin estis interesa.

Laŭ mi,vi devus diri:
is→estas
prepensis→pensis
ĝin→ĝi
Dankon!

Ne -n por "ĝi"?

Zam_franca:(in order to understand my sentences, please use lernu's dictionnary. Please ask me if there are words that aren't in the dictionnary and that you don't understand.
Ah yes, I have basically LIVED in the dictionary for the past week, both the one here and the one at bab.la. Bab.la is actually a lot better than the one here.

Zam_franca:Vi ne faris tiom multe da eraroj, sciante, ke vi estas nur novbakita (=komencanto).
Dankon. Kiam oni uzus "multa" kaj kiam "multa."

(If I used "oni" and the conditional -us correctly there I will be shocked! Also, how do you say, "I am confused"? I can't figure it out. I don't think it's "Mi estas konfuzi" or "Mi estas konfuzas.")

Ankaŭ, "novbakita"? Ĉi tiu vorto ne estas en la vortaro.

Zam_franca:[ to be = esti
La prezenco --> -as
Tial my Esperanto is = mia Esperanto estas
Mi komprenas.

(How do you say "the same as"? For instance, I want to ask "Is 'kial' the same as 'do'?")

Zam_franca: to think about = pensi pri, pri-pensi (we usually write it "pripensi").
La preterito --> -is
Tial oni diras "Mi pripensis"

Tamen "pripensi" ne estas taŭga tiu-kaze. Simple diru "mi pensis, ke...", mi petas.
Estas "pripensi" more like "to think deeply, to ponder"?

(I couldn't figure out how to say "more like" in EO.)

Zam_franca:
ĝin estis interesa
it = ĝi
La subjekto tiufraze estas "ĝi". Tial vi ne devis skribi la akuzativon. Kaj en Esperanto, la harmon-igo de la gramatikaj tempoj estas malsamaj, kaj miaopinie pli logikaj.
Mmm, mi ne komprenas "harmon-igo." Kaj, "tiufraze" estas "this sentence"?

(I'm not totally sure how you're coming up with tiu-kaze and tiufraze. Also, are you saying that "ĝi" is BOTH the subject AND the direct object. I would think that "I" am the subject. I thought . . . what? I thought IT, therefore "ĝi" needs the -n. No?)

Zam_franca:I saw a cat that was nice Se tiu kato estas ankoraŭ afabla, do la taŭga Esperantigo estas "Mi vidis katon, kiu estas afabla".

Ĉu vi [are switching] tempojn ĉi tiu, ne?

(Sorry, I couldn't figure out the right word for "to switch." But aren't you switching between past and present tense? I "THOUGHT (past tense) that it IS (present tense) interesting"?

Zam_franca:
Mi esperas, ke mi sukcesos helpi iom alvi, kaj ke vi komprenos kelkajn vortojn okulumo.gif.
La vortaro ne havas "alvi." Sed vi helpas min multe! Dankon!

Mi volas plibonigi mian Esperantan lertecon [within the next] tridek tagoj. Mi studas pluraj horoj ciu tago!

Zam_franca (Montri la profilon) 2020-aprilo-09 11:29:19

I am confused = mi estas konfuzita
**
"Harmon-igo" means "harmonization".
"tiufraze" means "in this sentence".
**

* al vi! There are 2 words!
**

I don't really know how to explain you the tenses, sorry. Please go in the "grammar section", you will certainly find what you are looking for.

**
No, "ĝi" is only the subject! "ĝi" is the articles that is interesting.
**
"do" is like the English "so", or the Spanish "entonces". "Kial" means "why".
You will study this on 'La teorio Nakamura', don't worry.

Esperanto is a quite simple language, but you need a methodology to learn it. So in my opinion you shouldn't start with the most complex things. Just do the course, and you will increase your level quite fast. Once you think you're able to read a simple text, go to the media library there are a lot of text for beginners there (like "Ana Pana").

Well I mean, it wasn't really a question like that. I am saying that obviously you are switching tenses. If you say, "I saw this book, and I think it is interesting" you are going from past tense to present tense in the same sentence. You can do that in English, but you can also say, "I saw this book and I thought it was interesting. So I bought the book.

Zam_franca:"do" is like the English "so", or the Spanish "entonces". "Kial" means "why".
Sorry, I didn't mean kial. I meant tial.

I have seen both "tial" and "do" translated as therefore.

Are they interchangeable?

Zam_franca:You will study this on 'La teorio Nakamura', don't worry.
Well probably not for at least a couple of weeks. I still have seven lessons to go in the Kurso.

How long should La teorio Nakamura take to get through, by the way?

I have started reading Ana Pana. Around the sixth page some of it started to confuse me.

I am going through the courses, but I also believe in learning by doing. So I'm trying to get some writing practice in, which I think should help immensely in terms of my understanding of how to actually USE the language. It's just that a lot of times I don't know how to write what I want to say, and furthermore, without anyone to correct my errors I don't actually know when I've made any.

Basically, I'm doing my best to get something of an immersion experience.

If you have nothing to do... You can do one lesson in one day (there are 25 lessons). So I would say one month, maybe a little less, if you have time to spend on it. I would say guardedly between 20 and 40 days.

Okay, thanks. Well I intend to finish the Kurso within the next two weeks and then I'll roll into Nakamura.

Neniu havas pensojn pri Ŝekspiro en Esperanto? Neniu havas intereson en Esperanta literaturo?

(Do I need ĉu here? Also, would it be Esperanto literaturo instead of Esperanta literaturo?)
