Living is risky.crossing the road, driving a car, fying swallowing an aspirin tablet or eating a chicken sandwich-they call all be fatal.clearly some risks worth taking especially when the rewards are high:a man surrounded by flames and smoke generally considers that jumping out of a second-floor window is an acceptable risk to save its.But in medicine a few procedures drugs, operation or tests are really a matter of life and death. There may be sound medicine reasons for accepting electrical shock treatment, but such reasons are totally depedent in the balance of riks.and benefits for the patients
Surgery for cancer may cure or prolong life, but the removal of tonsils cannot save anyting a sore throat.Blood pressure drugs definitely help some peopel live after a heart attack but these same drugsmay be both necessary and harmful for those with only mild blood pressure problems
Deciding how much discormfort and risk we are preparing to put with in the name of better is a high personal matter, not a decison we should remain to doctors alone.

Living is risky. Crossing the road, driving a car, flying, swallowing an aspirin tablet or eating a chicken sandwich, they CAN all be fatal. Clearly some risks worth takin, especially when the rewards are high: a man surrounded by flames and smoke generally considers that jumping out of a second-floor window is an acceptable rish to save HIMSELF. But in medicine a few DRUG PROCEDURES, AN operation or tests CAN really be a matter of life and death. There may be sound medicinAL reasons for accepting electrical shock treatment, but such reasons are totally dependent ON the balance of risks, and benefits for the patients.
Surgery for cancer may cure or prolong life, but the removal of the tonsils cannot save anything BUT a sore throat. Blood presure drugs definitely help some people live after a heart attack but these same drugs may be both necessary and harmful for those with only mild blood pressure problems.
Deciding how much discomfort and risk we are PREPARED to put-up with in the name of BIENG better is a high personal matter, not a decision THAT should remain WITH doctors alone.

Living (aŭ "Life") is risky. Crossing the road, driving a car, flying, swallowing an aspirin tablet or eating a chicken sandwich can all be fatal. Clearly some risks are worth taking, especially when the rewards are high: a man surrounded by flames and smoke generally considers that jumping out of a second-floor window is an acceptable risk to save himself. But in medicine, a few procedures, drugs, operations or tests really can be a matter of life and death. There may be sound medical reasons for undergoing electrical shock treatment (kutime nomata "electroshock therapy" aŭ pli teknike "electroconvulsive therapy), but such reasons are totally dependent ON the balance of risks, and benefits for the patients.
Surgery for cancer may cure or prolong life, but the removal of the tonsils cannot save anything but a sore throat. Blood pressure drugs definitely help some people live after a heart attack but these same drugs may be both unnecessary and harmful for those with only mild blood pressure problems.
Deciding how much discomfort and risk we are PREPARED to put up with in the name of being better is a highly personal matter, not a decision THAT should remain WITH doctors alone.[/quote]Mi estas instruisto de la angla ridulo.gif
