la fundamento estas pli ampleksa, kaj pli lerninda, ĉar ĝi jam havas la unuan ŝtupon de matureco, kio ebligis iom facile verki rakontojn kaj librojn. (Mi aparte promesis al mi lerni la besto- kaj planto-nomojn, kiujn ĝi enhavas).

PIV estas tro granda por lernceloj, ĝi estas pli iu speco de ĝenerala grandega kolektado kaj enhavas multaj vortojn, pri kiuj oni disputas. Ĝi enhavas vortojn, kiujn eĉ en la nacilingvo la plimulto de la homoj ne konas.

Multajn nomojn de bestoj kaj kreskaĵoj, kiuj estas en la Fonda vortaro, mi eble neniam renkontis kaj tiom pli neniam uzis.

Ekzemple, animo anstataŭ spirito, arbetaĵo anstataŭ arbusto, instruitulo anstataŭ sciencisto, kreskaĵo anstataŭ planto, kunetenilo anstataŭ parentezo, malesti anstataŭ manki, naskonteco anstataŭ gravedeco, porti sin anstataŭ ŝvebi, profundaĵo anstataŭ abismo, superakvi anstataŭ inundi, ŝanceliĝi anstataŭ heziti, trunketo anstataŭ tigo, ulo anstataŭ persono.
