Inspired by the 30 day guy (http://www.fluentin3months.com/) I would like to try using more Esperanto even though I don't much yet. I want to write someone who would be patient with such gripping conversation as "Hi, my name is shannon, I have two dogs. One is black and one is brown" and such like that, because that's where I am right now ridulo.gif

I can't read well enough yet to make heads nor tail of the Esperanto forums. Can someone tell me if there's a space or a link to a resource where a beginner can write very simply and maybe get some helpful replies (corrections, or simple responses).

Yes, there is. You can do so in this thread, if you like. Write anything you want, post it in this thread, and ask for correction help. That's exactly what the English forum is for.

When I first started, I began a blog, purely with the intention of practicing Esperanto. The first many posts were both short and boring. Over time they got longer and (I hope) more interesting, but being interesting was never the point. Practicing Esperanto was.

So, don't try and entertain us. Just write whatever you want, no matter whether you think it will interest us (or anyone). The point is learning the language. Gripping conversation can come later. ridulo.gif

The chatbox can also get you some practise.

I second using the instant messenger.

Once I had a decent handle on the common pronouns, prepositions and some verbs, I got on there and started chatting!

It took me a few minutes to respond because I had to look up words people used and find the ones I wanted to respond with, but I sure did learn a lot!

Riotnrrd, if it's still up, I'd love to see those boring, short posts of yours ridulo.gif

Where is the instant messenger/chatbox?

Where is the instant messenger/chatbox?
I haven't tried using hand-held devices to access this website, Lernu! website, so I'm answering this while using a laptop computer. The instant messenger is visible in one of those boxes, blocks, on the right side of the computer screen, beneath the dictionary/vortaro box, beneath the My Corner personal information box, scroll down more until you find the box entitled THE INSTANT MESSENGER TUJMESAĜILO then you click the little triangle in the colored dot as a click-down arrow to expand the box and show what others are typing at one another, in real time. I'm sort of shy, so I mostly just read.

Oh! Thanks! You know, I was on this site for a few weeks before I realized what the vortaro was doing over there, lol! I don't pay enough attention I guess ridulo.gif
