Personally, I do not think we need Duolingo. There are other languages that needs it more, like Nahuatl, Basque, !Kung, etc.... Esperanto has enough advocates (that annoys many, sure, just because we always make our presence felt) to sustain itself for the coming years. These minority languages aren't as lucky.

The fact that we act as a forceful lobby group reveals that the Esperanto community is not creating something. We just want to ride unto somebody else's success (like Duolingo) instead of making ourselves successful.
