I am using Ubuntu 14.04. I just updated my firefox browser and now when I click on an Esperanto word, it doesn't have the nice popup window with the definition. Also, the pages keep loading endlessly. Even right now as I type the webpage says it is loading. On the bottom left it says
Read www.gstatic.com

Is there anything that I can do to fix this? The main attraction of using this website is because I can click any word and see the meaning. I won't be motivated to use this site without this feature.

Does anyone what technology is used to create the popups so that I can try to troubleshot the problem? For example, is it flash, javascript, php, or something like that?

It is implemented with php and javascript. While the first is not under any influence of your browser the latter must be set up correcty. I use NoScript and only allow the sources from lernu.net and it works. Check if you have Javascript enabled; not only in your general browser-settings, but also in the individual page-settings for lernu!

Just an update in case others have this problem also. It had nothing to do with the firefox update. It is a google server problem. The servers were overloaded or something. There was a bottleneck somewhere, and it seems to originate from the ads on this website. Everything is working properly now. Thank God I can once again enjoy this feature!!!

I have run this website on the last several distributions of Ubuntu using Firefox without issue. I have, however, experienced that issue before and it does seem to be an intermittent problem.
