"China is more and more isolated".

When Western media says that China is "isolated", it means that China is an economical enemy of West, and the West tries or should try to get more and more independent from China's market.

This is neither about politics nor economics. "Egocentrism and language" is our theme.

In Esperanto we have an egocentrical verb VENI; do you know some others? And when the verb ISOLATE is a tool for an egocentrical view, it happens to be read "i isolate you, by means of not greeting you". That is true in the context "i am the big boss and when i put in disgrace a subordinate all the others follow disciplinatedly my example or implicite order". That is true when that unfortunated subordinate can not escape that influence group, and must suffer the bulling. But in the case of China, the big context makes that assertion ridiculous, or, say, egocentrical.

"i isolate you, by means of not greeting you". You love me so passionatedly that my not greeting you is a turment, and you are ready to capitulate without conditions, to give me all your belongings and future, to receive in return an ambiguous smile from me.

Thanks, Altebrilas.
Deikto/deixis is a great concept. Worth exploring.
