If you want to emphasize capability for continuing study, I would use the imperative povu, e.g. Por ke mi povu lerni Esperanton plu, mi devas legi pli ol nun.
Here's an example from Zamenhof: Sed por ke nia laborado estu fruktoporta, ni devas antaŭ ĉio bone klarigi al ni la internan ideon de la esperantismo. (Speech to the 2nd International Congress at Geneva, 1906; see e.g. Originala Verkaro, pp 370-371).

I must say, I have been a little afraid to post questions like this, thinking they would seem too dumb. This has nothing to do with the atmosphere or anything else concerning the web site. On the contrary, I would like to thank everyone for not making my questions or me feel dumb! Much appreciated!

Esperantists, as a general rule, like new people learning the language. Being rude to them is therefore somewhat counterproductive.
