Here is a poem I wrote. I worked from the opposite direction as waxle. I wrote it in English, then translated it into Esperanto. Please let me know if I used correct grammar, and if it makes sense. Let me also know how my choice of words can be improved.
Amo Estas Bela

Amo estas bela.
Ĉiam ĝi estas bela,
Sed ĝi ne estas ĉiam facila.
Sed ĝi estas la malfacilaĵoj
Ke testi nia amo,
Kaj demonstras ke nia amo
Estas eterna kaj vera!
Love is beautiful.
Always it is beautiful,
But it is not always easy.
But it is the difficulties
That test our love,
And proves that our love
Is true and eternal.
I know, it doesn't have any rhyme, nor rhythm, it's prose poetry. I hope Esperanto has prose poetry. If not, I'll never be an Esperanto Poet! lango.gif

Sed tio ja ekzistas
Por testi nian amon,
Kaj montri ke eterna
kaj vera estas ĝi!

bela=nice
belega=beautiful
testi=provi

Esperanto havas liberan vortordon.
Multajn sukcesojn.

"tio" and "kio" are never plural.

After thinking about it all day, then reading your responses, I have written a second draft to my poem. Its a little bit different, a little bit the same, just let me know what you think. Once again, the words came from various online dictionaries. If I have misused a word, please inform me, and if you can think of a better word choice, then let me know. Although, I would like to keep the general structure of the poem as it is, and only substitute words or phrases, and not half the poem, or what not.
Amo estas bela,
Ĉiam estas bela,
Sed ĝi ne estas
Ĉiam facila.
Tamen ĝi estas
La afliktadoj
Ke testas nia amo.
Kaj ĝi estas la
Provaĵoj ke montras
Nia amo estas ĉiam
ETERNA kaj VERA!
Love is beautiful,
Always is beautiful,
But it is not
Always easy.
Nevertheless it is
The afflictions
That test our love.
And it is the
Trials that show
Our love is always
ETERNAL and TRUE

BTW, much thanks to Terurĉjo. I did use some of the words you suggested, even though I didn't use the restructuring you suggested.

Both of the rewritten poems are beautiful, but I like the structure of my revised poem better. Nothing against you two, I hope you don't take offense. And I want to thank all who have given me your input. And I welcome further input, of course!

I don't have any specific suggestions for the poem beyond the grammatical corrections that others have already mentioned.

I just wanted to congratulate Byron, not only for writing such a lovely poem so early in his learning process, but also for having the courage to share it with the rest of us!

I like it; I know the grammar thing might seem stickler-esque, but it flows much more smoothly in the mind of a person who has acclimated to esperanto ridulo.gif. Never the less, congratulations on a concise, meaningful poem.
