I think, that English uses the compound word "cash register" more often than many other languages their literal equivalents. We have "pay by cash", kontante pagi, "cash office" (a separate room for handling cash), kasejo, "pay at (the) cashier (counter)/checkout/cash register", pagi ĉe la kaso and "cash register" (the machine), kasregistrilo. My understanding is, that kaso (vd. PIV) is enough in most cases, and only need kasregistrilo when you need to talk about the keys, buttons and whatever on that specific machine.

Por mi, unuavide, estas "pagilo"aŭ "enkasigilo" depende de la vidpunkto; klienta aŭ vendista. Mi supozas, ke ekzistas pli precizaj vortoj por indiki tiun specialan specon de maŝino. Sed ĉu la koresponda vorto apartenas al faka leksikono? La afero estas studinda: eble oni povas trovi tekstojn skribatajn kiam elektronikaj aparatoj ne ekzistis.

"Pagilo" estas rimedo por pagi, iu ajn ilo por pagi. Ĝi estas kolektiva nomo por kontanto, bankokartoj, kreditkartoj, retaj servoj (Paypal k.t.p.), poŝtelefonaj aplikaĵoj (Apple Pay, Google Pay) k.t.p.

PIV konas la vorton "kasregistrilo", sed Reta Vortaro havas la vorton "kasmaŝino".

"Enkasigilo" kaŭzas al mi mentalan imagon de viroj en ledaj rokoj kaj kun bazopilkaj rakedoj, kiam ili superpendas uzi la rakedoj kiel enkasigiloj malgajo.gif
