Hope forum members don't mind a newbie like myself making a comment and i hope i am just repeating old news but here goes. I have been looking around for an easy way to print out accented letters in documents and email and the best way i have come up with so far is to use the Character Map.

In Windows: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories-> System Tools and click on Charater Map.
Hope this maybe of help to someone. Colin

Hi, I am new to esperanto, (just joined here.)
I found an easy way for typing the special characters here (It's free) http://www.randomly.com/esptype/index-en.html

You just type an x after the letter and it automatically converts it to the character.
It's supposed to work in everything (even filenames) tho I've only used it in notepad and AngelWriter, so I don't know how well it works in other applications.

I'm a newbie too -- and a mac user. To get the accented letters on a mac you activate the "US extended" keyboard. The following keystrokes then produce the letters:

C-circumflex Ĉ = option+6 shift-c
c-circumflex ĉ = option+6 c
G-circumflex: Ĝ = option+6 shift-g
g-circumflex: ĝ = option+6 g
H-circumflex: Ĥ = option+6 shift-h
h-circumflex: ĥ = option+6 h
J-circumflex: Ĵ = option+6 shift-j
j-circumflex: ĵ = option+6 j
S-circumflex: Ŝ = option+6 shift-s
s-circumflex: ŝ = option+6 s
U-breve: Ŭ = option+b shift-u
u-breve: ŭ = option+b u

or, for swedish mac-users, use the finnish extended layout.

...which makes me belive that there are other suitable extended keyboard layouts as well depending on what your standard layout is.
