Saluton ridulo.gif

I convinced the author of Engine001 to add Esperanto to the list of supported languages. I don't know how many people would be interested in a niche application, but even a small community is better than no community at all ridulo.gif

I was only able to edit a few words since I slacked off in my studies for a long time. But I'm getting back into it.

If there's anyone who would find the RPG engine useful and would enjoy working on the translations for the application, please pop by the forums ridulo.gif

http://www.engine001.com

There's a translation tool that's linked to forum accounts here:

(oops, he asked me not to post a direct link to the tool just to keep vandals to a minimum)

I'm bitterbug on there as well.

What is this game about ?

"RPG", i know this as a rocket launcher...

bitterbug (Mostrar perfil) 7 de febrero de 2010 00:53:55

It also stands for Role Playing Game ridulo.gif

Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, would all be considered 'RPGs'.

This is a tool for making role playing games, and not a game itself. Users can post their games on the site for people to try, so if you wanted to make a game based on finding a great sword or just learning Esperanto you could do that.

The developer and I were flatmates for a while and I saw that he had support for lots of other languages so I asked him to include Esperanto support.

Have you got a survey on the RPG terms? Races, jargon and similar? I am searching a translation to esperanto but I find no one.

Eh, I'd just stick to the RPG maker series myself. I'm sure XP and VX can handle the accented characters.

@gyrus
Do they localize the developer interface?
I've not actually seen them in action, so wouldn't know ridulo.gif

@moskbnea
I don't know if he has terminology for that or not. I would assume not as the intent is to let people localize the tool to their own language, but it's not specifically for fantasy RPGs. It's just a development tool that any type of action RPG could be made in. So the translation items are for things like scripting, the store and object mechanisms, layers, etc.
I imagine someone trying to use the English interface to do scripting would get frustrated pretty quickly if they didn't understand a word of what they were seeing ridulo.gif

Oh, I guess I wasn't clear in the original post and didn't realize until replying. ridulo.gif

The support for Esperanto isn't just for dialog in the games you create. He added support so that the entire development interface can be in Esperanto. So you can collaborate or develop entirely within Esperanto.

Like when switching language packs for Firefox, etc. ridulo.gif

I was suggesting RPG maker just for making Esperanto games, you'd have to use the program in your native language if possible, and if not English or Japanese.

If programming terms are what you need, try Komputeko.

Presently I'm fiddling with a similar project, trying to translate Inform 7 language definition files into Esperanto. It is slow-going.

Interesting - especially since it will soon have 3d support. Can it do Zelda-esque RPG though? Like this: Random rpg maker of sorts video. If so you'd be able to make Phantom Hourglass clones etc (if not, then an older Zelda/Zenonia styled game is still pretty cool) rideto.gif

Pity none of this is for mac, or would work acceptably on a oldish eMac though ploro.gif
