Telephone chats in Esperanto, anyone?

Saluton kara! I'm looking for Esperantists in the United States who'd be interested in chatting in Esperanto by telephone rido.gif

I live in South Carolina and haven't found Esperanto speakers nearby to meet face-to-face. I think that the telephone may be my best ally if I am to become fluent in the International Language before ELNA and UEA's meetings next year.

My writing/reading ability in Esperanto is very good, but so far I've only had one opportunity to speak it. I'd be overjoyed to find some telephone buddies to chat with maybe once a week or twice a month.

I want this forum to be useful for everybody, so...

If you are interested in phone chats in general, leave a message in here saying so. That way, others who are interested can look in this forum, see who else is interested, and browse profiles to choose a buddy based on shared interests. Then Lernu emails could be exchanged with chat details: date, time, availability (duration), and phone number.

That's a great idea! I guess that way the conversations need not be limited to people in the same country. I need to start thinking like an Esperantist!

How do I get started with Skype?

Mi trovis la retpagxon de Skype, kaj cxio sxajnas simpla. Cxu vi scias se ie en Lernu jam ekzistas forumo aux grupo de Esperantistoj, kiuj interesigxas pri babilado per Skype?

I guess you just have to download the client, and purchase a microphone and possibly headphones for your PC and that should be it. There are other fancy devices (like USB handsets) but you don't really need them.

Voice chat is now in beta on Second Life as well.

I heard about Esperanto in Second Life. I just joined yesterday. I would love to voice-chat with people there. My SL name is Revemulo Jun.
