On the Lernu forums, when responding to multiple posts in a single topic/thread, what's considered good form?

a) A single post which responds to multiple posts--quoting as necessary to make it clear who said what...

b) Person/post-centric replies: each post responds to a single person's or post's questions/thoughts.

I've gone both ways in the past couple of days. I'm used to high-traffic mailing lists, so without guidance, I'll probably lean towards 'one post, replying to multiple people/ideas/questions'--quoting carefully to make it clear what I'm responding to.

I personally prefer a single post. When I see multiple in a row, it comes across to me as a little n00by.

I always try to avoid double posts, so when quoting several people I put the quotes in one post. However, the users on this forum are generally quite tolerant when it comes to things like this, so you can also write "many tiny posts" if you prefer that.

I think me and qwertz are sometimes prone to post multiple posts just because we either want to say alot and break it up, or because we don't know who to reply to, some other users however tend to put everything in one post, and "know when not to bite off more than they can chew".

Write more fluently than me and you should be fine.

Just like out-running a bear, right? One doesn't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than the other guy...

Netiquette always used to be that separate posts were desirable, because it made it easier for others to search for help on a given topic later on & use information already given, rather than creating new posts.
