No, nerds could call themselves losers, but just because someone calls themselves a loser it doesn't mean they're a nerd.

Even if I don't understand, why someones could call themselves a loser. There everytime is something in live somebody could take motivation of themselves. Also everybody by itselves has the right to define its personal achievements by itselves. I.e. even to say an friendly word to another person can be an personal personal achievements e.t.c. There are so much things every human archieved at its life. Why to call themselves an loser? I don't understand. Hhm.

I can see how someone might make the loser connection; the Esperanto community is always looking for new members, and by its very nature is very open. Someone who has diffculty fitting in elsewhere in society could easily make a life among us.
For myself, I am an intermittent Esperantist, because every now and again my professional life takes over all my time and energies for long periods, and all hobbies and projects are left to gather dust for another while. When I come back I always wish I had perevered but I never feel that I only return when I'm at a loose end, but simply when I have the freedom to be where I want to be.
