What do you mean about the online-contest in Germany? Did you already vote? It is very important that the Lernu-users vote too. Only if German Esperanto Association will be one of the 1000 most important association they will win 1000 EUR. Why until now they have only 1500 votes (one E-Mail-adress can vote 3 times). That means that only 500 people voted!

If the German Esperanto Association can win the prize money, then that can only be a good thing! Just don't burn it all on pamphlets rideto.gif

Esperantst:Did you already vote?
No, but I will now.

The reason why I didn't vote earlier is that you initially said that only people in Germany could vote. However, according to the Esperanto text in the link above, people can vote from any country in the world. So, that should make it much easier for you to get the votes together!

I've just added my three votes.

Sorry, I prefer to donate directly. I also was asked by minimum four different initatives to take part at that Internet voting competition.

If it already goes the international advertising way: Why GEA didn't offer an translation of their description at http://verein.ing-diba.de/kultur/10317/deutscher-e...?

Translation of the description:

de: Der Deutsche Esperanto-Bund würde die Teilnehmer von bedürftigen Jugendlichen oder Familien bei einem der nächsten Esperanto-Treffen fördern.
en: The German Esperanto Association would give grants to participants of indigent youngsters or families at their next Esperanto renkontiĝojn.

de: Insbesondere für Jugendliche oder Familien aus den ehemaligen Ostblockstaaten bedeutet die Teilnahme an einem solchen Kongress einen hohen finanziellen Aufwand.
en: Especially for youngsters or families of the former Warsaw Pact countries the participation at such an congress signifies very high monetary efforts.

de: Gleichzeitig wird auf den Kongressen aber Völkerverständigung wirklich gelebt. Ein Beitrag zu Frieden und Verständigung in der Welt.
en: Same time, at (Esperanto) congresses international understanding truly is experienced. An contribution for freedom and understanding accross the world.

Sorry, I really get w.t.f.-headaches reading that at the original German text.

But isn't this meant only for people who live in Germany?

At first, this was believed to be the case. But, according to the link that Esperantst gives above it's fine for anyone to vote.

I voted and I'm not in Germany. I think this thing is worth voting for as it should be relatively easy to do well in this competition.

No, the conditions don’t say that - on the German-language forum we’ve already discussed this (since I, not being from Germany either, wanted to vote) and the bank that is doing this contest seems to have said that it’s okay for everyone to vote.
