Just wondering if there would be interest in an Esperanto speaking poker room (play-money of course).
We could play and chat in Esperanto as most poker clients have an integrated chat area.

If you are interested in setting one up, link to your favourite site/app and say why you recommend it.

Someone set up an Esperanto poker tournament a few years ago, complete with a glossary of poker terms in Esperanto, but I don't know if it ever developed into a lasting poker room.

Ok, after a little research, found a few interesting things...
Not all poker sites allow Americans! (WTF?)
Not all sites support all operating systems.

So, I found a nice little app called PokerTh for Win, Mac and Linux (I hear it's also available for some mobile platforms).

For internet games, it requires an account on http://www.poker-heroes.com/ which you use in your local app.

After that, open the app on your computer,
Select option 2 -- Internet game,
Enter your Nick and password,
Click Create game and call it Esperanto (for example).

If there is already a game called Esperanto, then click join okulumo.gif
If you want to password protect the game, I suggest something like, "lernu".

Online gambling is sometimes used for illegal purposes, such as money laundering. Some US states also have strict rules about gambling. Websites that restrict or prohibit Americans from playing are probably only trying to comply with US law.
