The widget installs ok, it shows up on the screen. But when you click it nothing happens and then after a second or so it disappears. But it keeps running in the background.
After a few clicks I ended up with several Esperanto widgets running at the same time, which used up all the CPU power, thus bringing my computer to a grinding halt! My current solution has been to turn the whole dashboard off! I've deleted the widget from ~/Library/Widgets/.

A Web App is made using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and runs on most browsers, desktop or mobile. The target was for mobile so that I could use it to lookup EO words while reading or away from my computer. Am now sharing with the EO Community, no cost and no registration.
Mobile EO
The iPhone/iPad users can use the 'Add to Home Screen' to create a quick launch button instead of typing the URL each time. Not sure how to do this on other mobile devices but should be doable. Post if you know how.
To create a Mac OS X Dashboard widget, use Safari, resize the window smaller, then under Safari's "File" menu use "Open in Dashboard.." to select and add the Web App to your Mac OS X Dashboard.

You had a very good idea !

It works well with MacOS X 10.7 (Lion)
Evidenty it works with every languages, I will use it in french, and we must inform about it all the Mac-Users, from every countries, who just begin to learn Esperanto on lernu! How to do that ? (Putting its address into the menu "learning > downloads", at the top of our site ? )
Thank you very much.

Chainy:This is definitely a good idea, and I suppose it works well with more modern versions of MacOS X, but it doesn't work in MacOS X Tiger 10.4 (with an old iBook PPC).Hi Chainy - sorry about your trouble. I don't do anything fancy in the code - it's just a simple Dashcode project. I can post it if you want to try debugging it.
