i-Phone and lernu

I've just been talking to a friend who thinks still more highly of the i-Phone than the Blackberry, because the keyboard that appears on the i-Phone is more finger-friendly.

So, I make an analogous question: in the absence of a laptop, can the i-Phone easily handle lernu, hotmail and internet orders through places like amazon?

I honestly think of all of them, Swype on Android devices is the easiest, and fastest, way to type while not on a laptop, and perhaps even faster than typing at times.
I can't speak for iPhone as I don't own one but I have browsed the website on my Android phone and it works well. For email purposes you will have an app specially built for that purpose and will rarely have to use the browser, if at all, to do email related things. As for internet orders I've never tried to do one anywhere but on a PC but I don't see why not...
Edit: I almost forgot to add that I have seen an app for Amazon on the Android Market... So there should be one for iOS devices.

I have not tried with iPhone, but my iPad handles Lernu! without any difficulty. As far as phones go I use an LG Optimus running Android and it also has no problem with Lernu! I have tried a few different phone keyboards, and I really like the Swype keyboard that Android offers. The only drawback is that between the small screen size and my fat fingers I sometimes have trouble hitting the link that I am aiming for. This is easily solved though by simply zooming in on the link before trying to touch it. Whatever smart phone you choose should be able to handle the forums here at Lernu! and should have apps availble to help navigate Amazon.com, eBay, etc. Good luck, and happy gadgeting!

I created a simple Web App which fronts a few of Lernu.net's features, Work of the Day, Vortaro and Word lookup by language. There are also links to Radio Verda and Esperanto Retradio offerings.

A Web App is made using HTML, CSS and JavaScript and runs on most browsers, desktop or mobile. The target was for mobile so that I could use it to lookup EO words while reading or away from my computer. Am now sharing with the EO Community, no cost and no registration.

Mobile EO

The iPhone/iPad users can use the 'Add to Home Screen' to create a quick launch button instead of typing the URL each time. Not sure how to do this on other mobile devices but should be doable. Post if you know how.
