It seems to me that this third line is intended to actually be two sentences with a period after "koleru".

Miland:I haven't seen 'bonvole' used as a request before. Is there any reference for it?
mnlg:I wouldn't know, but at least for me it sounds logical..I did a little digging in la PoMEGo. On page 382 in small print we have
Noto: Kelkaj uzas anstataŭe bonvole ... U , ekz. Bonvole sidu ĉi tie! Tio estas sufiĉe logika alternativo, sed ĝi ne estas kutima, nek tradicia. Prefere oni restu ĉe la normala bonvolu ...I.
The same is found in abbreviated form in what I will call la PoMeGETo (section 20.1.2.2). Jen mia neologismo!

O.K.! How do you Google this kind of info? This would be a great learning tool for me or anyone learning Esperanto because of the many synonyms. One could find out quickly which word is more commomnly used

Pick other verbs to get a better idea. I tried 3/4 verbs, can't remember which ones. The proportion pretty much always stayed the same.
It doesn't carry any weight for me, I only treat this as an indicator on how frequent some forms are. I still follow my own logic and my understanding of the language. If there was a serious grammar mistake in a very popular text, I doubt I would accept it as correct only because it is widespread.
