How would you express
"eons ago/later" ...

I thought maybe:
post bilionjaroj ...

However it looks clumsy and doesn’t express what I wanted to say. What I was looking for was an unknown amount of time ago, or in the future.

wow... I didn't even know that was a word. Thanks for that. no wonder I didn't find it in reta vortaro, I searched up eons. I see it exists in Wikipedia, does anyone know if it's in PIV?

It is in NPIV2005, defined as comprising several eras (eraoj).

But the expression 'eons' ago in popular speech just means a long time ago, not literally 'eons'.

I think antaŭ mult(eg)aj jaroj would suffice.

If you wanted to be more hyperbolic you might say en praa epoko.

In the same way that we use 'astronomical' to refer to great distances, perhaps you might use 'geologia' to refer to great periods of time.

From PIV :

(I must confess that I difficultly understood it ^^)
