Hi everyone, after the accusative question I asked(I think I understand it now-sort of, by the way), I would like to ask another question. How is a sentence with more than one verb handled in esperanto? Do they all take the same ending, or is it right that the following verbs after the first one always keep the infinitive ending?

Thank you for all your help. It is much appreciated.

In a way it's the same as in English and many other languges:

1) Modal-verb-construction
Then the modal-verb is conugated and the verb it refers to appears as infinitive. Examples:

[EN] You must be careful.
Vi devas esti gardema.

[EN] She wants to have a car.
[eo] Ŝe volas havi aŭton.

2) Multiple verbs refering to the same thing
Here all the verbs are conugated equally.
Examples:

[EN] It's quite easy to write and (to) read Esperanto.
[eo] Estas sufiĉe facila skribi kaj legi Esperanton.

[EN] The lord gives and takes.
[eo] La lordo donas kaj prenas.[/eo][/eo][/eo]

Thank you ridulo.gif That is the way I've been doing it, so I have a pretty good idea I'm doing it right, now.
