No surprise at all. Esperanto is the best choice for the ill mankind. It would solve most language barriers and language handicap we experience these days...

Maybe. But obviously it's a surprize for the initiators of the poll. Maybe they haven't ever heard of Esperanto at all.

Are you shure? They have only noted the fact and that was all. Still they opt out for national languages. To notice Esperanto one must experience real language barrier - get lost in a foreign country where no one understands English.

I, as a language lover, would loeathe seeing only 1 language in the world T_T. I agree that Esperanto is easy for most people; nonetheless, I would not like to see such barrier easily broken. I like the idea of people knowing and studying various languages. So, I prefer diversity, but Esperanto is perfect as an auxiliar language as it is intented to be. I like language barriers, after all, if there were none, what would translators and interpreters live by? xD

yeah... but I don't think the poll meant to say everyone should know one specific language and be done with it... the more you know the better, all in all...

Well, now they thinks that Esperanto is not, for example, a Spanish meal. And that is good
anyway.

No one says that Esperanto should be the only foreign language to learn. Because it is easy it should be aquired as the first second language, then everyone would have free time to study any language he/she likes, not just one (English) as of today. And don't be so fond of language barriers - they can really bring some pain and they do.

the more (languages) you know the better, all in all...
Why?

Learning foreign languages is on the whole a very time-consuming affair. The time might be better spent on improving ones command of ones mother tongue.

Just because you like doing something, it doesn't follow that it is valuable.
