xdzt:I was wondering what websites you guys know about where the content is in Esperanto? I've done a few trawls of old forum topics on the subject, but most of the websites are defunct. I figured maybe there just weren't any active Esperanto language websites out there anymore, but then I came across nunonia and figured there must be some more.nunonia.com is no longer being updated. Try www.liberafolio.org

nigra_rivereto:nunonia.com is no longer being updated. Try www.liberafolio.orgLiberafolio.org is exactly what I don't want -- I should've been more clear. I'm looking for websites in Esperanto about things which are not Esperanto. It is very easy to find Esperanto talking about Esperanto. It is considerably rarer to find a website like Nunonia which predominantly talks about other things, actually interesting things, but using Esperanto.
It's a shame Nunonia's no longer updated. I saw April 2012 and I assumed they just didn't post very often.

Of course, Vikipedio has articles in Esperanto on a whole range of subjects.
If you are interest in language politics, I strongly recommend Ĉu nur-angla Eŭropo, but I don't think that this book has yet been uploaded to the net.
My impression is the the Internet has been mainly used by Esperantists for educational, propagandist and blog purposes, and of course for handling the admin side of Esperanto events. If you want more than this you need to turn to old-fashioned printed literature.

Astono465:What would really be cool would be a "Facebook" sort of website in Esperanto. Where one could have friends and update status, post, exhchange info, etc.Facebook itself has a (low-quality) Esperanto translation.

Astono465:What would really be cool would be a "Facebook" sort of website in Esperanto. Where one could have friends and update status, post, exhchange info, etc.Such sites have been created several times and always pretty much failed. People aren't willing to create zillions of social networking accounts, especially when the Esperanto one usually isn't as good as Facebook (and way more Esperanto people are on Facebook than on the Esperanto-specific services).
Amikumu was one of the early ones. There's also esperanto.com with some similar functions, but it doesn't seem widely used.
