Vi loĝas en Nov-Jorkio. "Novjorko" is the city. If I weren't going to spend the next ten months in Germany, I would gladly do it, as I live in Nov-Jorkio as well, near a village by the name of Corfu.

Snail mail is quite expensive nowadays. Just an inland letter in the UK costs 50 or 60 pence.

There used to be a system of International Reply Coupons which the recipient to could exchange for a stamp (poŝtmarko). I don't know if that exists any more.

That indeed is what Landoj kaj lingvoj de la mondo says - but among US Esperantists, common usage is to distinguish between Novjorko (city) and Novjorkio (state), and between Vaŝingtono (city) and Vaŝingtonio (state). And for that matter, in Quebec, they distinguish between the city (Kebeko) and the province (Kebekio).

A yes or no question normally has an unchanged word order from a simple statement of fact. You simply add "ĉu". In the case of yes or no question, changing the word order and adding a question mark technically doesn't make it a question. (it is a little like making an uncertain statement of fact. It's like saying "You are new in Esperanto?" rather than asking "Are you new in Esperanto?")

Thank you Erinja for the remark... I was trying to form sentence for the 1st time... no wonder it felt so weird while I type the question I supposed to ask! XD So embarrassing but I will try not to make the same mistake again. It's normal for a komencanto to make mistakes, even though I am aware that I should be using the 'ĉu' question XD

I read on an amateur radio forum that international reply coupons still exist, but the demand for them is low enough that in most places they are a special order item. Here in the Seattle area I would expect them to be available over the counter at the main downtown post office, but probably not at any of the branches.

Huh, I'm going to have to ask the Seatlo Esperanto-Societo about that. I've been using "Vaŝintono" for my state.

Aside: I find it a bit odd that one would esperantize Washington with three separate consonants, all of which would need to be sounded out since Esperanto doesn't have the "ng" sound English speakers use in "Washington." But then things aren't always done the way I think they should be. Otherwise German grammatical endings would be a lot more like Esperanto.
