I already have "Esperanto - Learning and using the International Language" by Richardson, and I am ordering the "English-Esperanto-English Dictionary" by wells. Is there other books that you would recommend for someone who is learning Esperanto.

Are you looking for learning books or reading books?

Those two are a good start as learning texts. With the internet, in my opinion, you don't need more than that. My only book when I was learning was the old edition of the Wells dictionary, which had a slightly more complete grammar guide than today's Wells.

"Being colloquial in Esperanto" by Jordan is an excellent book. It's also available for free online on David Jordan's website.

You may wish to purchase a paper grammar, if you would rather have a paper reference than an online one. There's a paper version of the detailed grammar at lernu (in Esperanto only), and also a paper version of the Complete Handbook of Esperanto Grammar (also in Esperanto only). They're both written in easy language, so you don't have to get very far in Esperanto to understand most of the text.

Saluton!,

Sorry, I can't say other books because I don't used English books to learn.
But in case that can help you,
here you are my advice: the 3 Baliurel tips for someone who is learning Esperanto when/while finish a grammar and/or a text book:

1).........................................................................................
You try to read all things you find in your level,

--- Facila vento:
http://facila.org/

--- Gerda:

http://esperantofre.com/gerdakd/gerda.pdf

--- Esperanto with subtitles

- The Wind and the Sun: Learn Esperanto with subtitles

- The Whispering Palms: Learn Esperanto with subtitles - Story for Children "BookBox.com"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o3Tv3Hk7wY&fea...
- etc

1.a.
Make more active the reading when you could:
- Read not only in your mind, but in your lips.
- Close eyes and repeat what you read. BUT repeat with all the bones the line, as if it were yours, as if you was the character.

1.b.
And when time pass and you forget about the text, re read it.

2).......................................................................................
It is VERY important make a List with the new words you learn Esperanto - English.
Don't forget do it, and read it to check if you remember the translation of the word).

2.a
EO to EN and vice versa.

2.b
Would be good if put the new word in a phrase,
if no in all at leats at that you feel more forgettable.

About that List, you can use a paper block and ink, or some good computer program for memo as the free Anki.

3).........................................................................................
And write.
That is very important too.
Write!, a calendar phrase, a book title, a film phrase, a joke, a paragraph, a poem, a letter, a song, a little tale...

3.a
Of course, the words you need search for your translation/creation, you must to add too to the Word List!
