orthohawk:Just like Esperanto doesn't use the -u form in sentences like "Cuando vaya a la tienda, te compré dulces¨ When I go to the store, I'll buy you some candy. E-e: Kiam mi irOS al la vendejo, mi aĉetos por vi sukraĵojn.
"Cuando vaya a la tienda, te compraré dulces".

Amike.
ACK! Claro, tenés razón.

This is not the -u form (although it looks the same as the formal imperative singluar), but the -us form. Uncertain future events are expressed in Spanish with the subjunctive present.
The Spanish subjunctive is equal to both depending on the circumstances. (Si fuera rico, sería feliz = Se mi estus riĉa, mi estus feliĉa and Le dijo que se vaya inmediatamente = Mi diris al li ke li tuj forirU) My point, though, was that neither English nor Esperanto use any special mood in that type of sentence. (Esperanto, the future, English the present). And for the complete record, neither English nor Esperanto uses the equivalent of the Spanish subjunctive in "emotion sentences" (as we used to call them in school.)

Hyperboreus:Ok, got it.

Le dije que se fuera inmediatamente. Would be correct. Introducing verb in the past, hence subclause in the past too. This is actually a nice feature of Esperanto that you don't have to shift tenses around in subclauses.
dang the sequence of tenses! ridulo.gif
