Beginner's question:

Which of the online dictionaries are good? I have used the one here on lernu.net, and it seems good. What about Reta Vortaro? Any others? Thanks.

Reta Vortaro is good for looking up definitions in Esperanto only but is very limited for looking up Esperanto definitions for English words.

I would search with the terms "esperanto dictionary" and see what comes up. The nice thing about the lernu dictionary is that it will break apart words for you, if they are compound words, or if they have a suffix. This is a feature that you don't find on any other online Esperanto dictionary that I know of.

Thanks - your comments on Reta Vortaro were exactly what I was looking for - and that's why I hesitate to do a search blindly - as a beginner it's hard for me to tell what's good/what's not, or what is really the most helpful. Any further comments/input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

lingvo.org/traduku is very good... searching Google with the term 'tradukilo' returns some more results, because when you break tradukilo down:
[LISTO]
traduki - to translate
-ilo - a tool for the root[/list]Ĝis!
