Although I'm still a relative beginner, I would like to write to other Esperantists from time to time to improve my knowledge of both Esperanto and other people's countries and cultures. Is there anything like a 'pen pal' corner here at Lernu?

I find the babilejo very helpful, but some days I understand absolutely nothing and chats often go by faster than my ability to look up and learn new words. Can anyone give any helpful suggestions?

Dankon pro via helpo!

I think this is a place to learn and practice Esperanto. What's the problem? My intention was to help a user. I'm sorry, but I write better in Esperanto.

You can write in Esperanto but you have to include an English translation if you're in the English forum (or a Spanish translation in the Spanish forum). That's the way our forums work. If you want to post in Esperanto only, you can certainly post in our many Esperanto forums.

Some individuals may want a more personal, one on one, type of correspondence, rather than a sort of "broadcast" mode in public fora. That is how I interpreted the original post, although Belgesto must speak for himself. I know there could be instances when I would want a personal rather than public communication.

I used to message other users through the member search, and occasionally folks found and would message me on here. It's been a year since I've had any onsite correspondence now though. You're more than welcome to message me as well, if you'd like to converse Esperante. ridulo.gif
