How do I convey that something/someone is made to be done? For example:

"I made him listen to the song." : Mi farigis lin aŭskultatan al la kanto?

"He had the house painted." : Li farigis la domon farbitan?

Am I correct?

Because he is a beginner who does not feel the language yet. Skills come in time. Be patient.

To make or have something be done is usually handled in Esperanto by attaching -ig to the relevant verb

So you get a construction something like X-igi la Y-on or X-igi la Y-on al iu - riparigi la aŭton, sciigi ion al amiko.

I would have to check the Tekstaro to see the extent of usage with fari. But if you were going to use that then there would be no agreement of case. It would be ion aŭ iun Z-a. Li farigis la pordon blua/farbita.

You can also say igi iun X-i for to make someone do something. Sometimes a greater specificity is more elegant - so Mi konvinkis/ persvadis/ ordonis/ petis lin X-i
