I'm in Kansas, and I've met someone from MO and from NE online. I'd like to know what's out there for Esperantists. The person in NE told me about the Chicago Esperanto group, so I might travel there sometime.

Anyone else in the Midwest? Do you go to any groups? Are you interested in having a meetup somewhere?

i'm in Ohio, which i guess is the Middle East (lol). people used to tell me i was in the Midwest, but those people have probably never looked at a map. *shrug* disregard this.

I think technically Ohio is in the Midwest......which I once saw defined as anything north of the Ohio river and west of the Appallachians west to the Mississippi, then once you get to the Mississippi, everything north of the Missouri.

Anyway, I'm in Eastern Iowa.

I read this in an encyclopedia: "Historically part of the North, Indiana has the most Southern character of the Midwest states." After that I felt dizzy and had to lie down.

And here was I thinking the Middle East was on the same land mass as Europe.
How do the Israelis and Palestinians feel about having their countries moved to the Americas?

i dunno, i just looked at the map, and the Levant's in the far West part of the middle of Eurasia. sounds like the Midwest to me.

Sorry for reviving this post, but I was the original creator and I didn't want to make multiple threads on the same thing.

If anyone is interested, there is a Midwest Esperanto Meetup Group.
It's based in Kansas City and there are a few KC peoples in the group, but also some in other states.

A. I have regular Minecraft meetups scheduled for those of us who can't get together in person frequently. Minecraft has an official Esperanto language option, and we can talk in Esperanto on my server. We could also schedule meetups in other virtual realms as desired; other games, second life, ktp.

B. Since it's based in Kansas City, we will try to have regular KC meetups.

C. We're trying to schedule a meetup at the Omaha, NE Aquarium, if anyone is interested. In the future if there is much interest, we might try to have somewhat irregular meetups in other places around the Midwest, though it can be kind of a pain to travel around here.

This group was mainly created because there's a group in Austin, TX and in Chicago, IL, but nothing really in-between, and within a reasonable distance from KC. Hopefully we can have a pretty good, active, interesting group.

Hey there! Do you still have these? I've been considering of late to host a "Weekend in Esperantujo" type of event here in Iowa City which isn't TOO far away and wondered if any of you peeps would be interested in coming up for it?

Cheers.
