How about this one: "Find the lost ring".

Pretty cool! Did you do that one yourself?

Moosader:I've never seen so many people avidly against tattoos. 0.o In so much as to question one's sanity for getting one.

I guess most of who I hang out with are young-adult college students in Kansas City, so uh... different culture? Anyway, I think it's kind of... well, mean so be so negative about something that can mean a lot to people. Sometimes people get tattoos for a symbolic reason, to mean something to them. I don't want any tattoos, but I'm not going to put down anyone who does want them.

Besides, this person wants to express an excitement and love of Esperanto through a medium that isn't that rare these days. Maybe it's a desire to find others who speak Esperanto easily while out in the world, aye? I made a "Mi ŝatas Esperanton" t-shirt for the same reason, but I can't wear it every day... it'd get crusty. D:
Other groups may have other ways to distinguish themselves; specific jewelry and whatnot. Either way, maybe just taking the question as "Are there any specific [symbols] for the Esperanto culture?" rather than tattoos.

Anyway, to go back on-topic - InsaneInter, maybe find a song or phrase that means a lot to you and use that.
I've come up with my own design that is a green background, and instead of a white star I basically drew up a lily with five points, because I thought it'd be a little unique.

Beyond the Esperanto star/flag, there's also the "melon", but I think it's kind of ugly.

Thanks for understanding! Jeez, I thought Esperanto speakers were supposed to be open-minded and tolerant!

Word of advice: Any time you think, "[insert group of people here] were supposed to be [insert attributes here]", you're going to wrong at least some percentage of the time.

As for the tattoo, I've got no ideas. But then, I can't imagine any design I'd want on my body for the rest of my life.

True, LOL. It's rather sad though. It's ok if you don't have any tat ideas LOL.

That "trovu la ringon perditan" thing is a photoshop from an old McDonald's marketing campaign (google "find the lost ring") in conjunction with the 2008 Olympics. It's not a real tattoo.

I would never get a tattoo personally but if you want one, then please please please, I beg you, get your words checked by multiple reliable & experienced Esperantists before going ahead with it. You don't want your picture to end up on one of those photoblogs of people with mistakes in their tattoos (like at www.badhebrew.com - though of course an Esperanto one wouldn't end up there).

I have personally seen maybe one Esperanto tattoo, a small green star on someone's bicep. It's a wise and safe choice. Even if you dropped Esperanto later, you're not stuck with words (possibly misspelled words, possibly saying something you no longer agree with).

Googled it, but just random stuff showed up LOL. Alright, I'll get my words checked! Though I was thinking of getting something like a globe surrounded by five or seven stars( to represent the continents). I think that'd be "tight" LOL. Mind you, I take tattoos seriously ridulo.gif.

This is rly random, but yesterday I was wearing a fake tattoo of a big purple dragon and when my mom saw it up close, she said it made me look like a drug addict. I thought that was funny, but I I immediately got rid of it. I just wanted to share my personal biz with everybody XD.
