I recently created an electronic Esperanto-English dictionary for Kindle, titled, Pasporto Esperanta: An Esperanto-English Dictionary.

This book will be available for free until Wednesday (6/5/2013, US Pacific Time).

Some key features of my dictionary that I hope you will find very attractive:

• Free![/i] (for the next few days, $3 after that)
  
• Configurable as the primary dictionary for Kindle, for inline word lookup.
  
• Contains 55,171 words, and 957,314 conjugated forms. This is by a wide margin the most comprehensive Esperanto-English dictionary for kindle.
  
• Works with both hat letters (ŝati) and with x-notation (sxati).

Unfortunately, due to limitations with the way the Kindle works (meaning, that it does not recognize Esperanto as a valid eBook language), the dictionary has been electronically tagged as English-English and not Esperanto-English, and the eBook you are reading must also be tagged as English. (Note: if anybody has *any* idea for a better way of doing this, please let me know!)

Nicely done, but $3? If I had thought I could get away with charging for it, I probably would've ironed out the the last few kinks in my version. Still will, some day... At least that's what I tell myself.

Anyway, as someone who's also worked on this exact problem, I'm excited to download your's and see how you've approached it!

As for costing $3, Amazon requires a minimum cost for the book, depending on the size of the book. Including all of those conjugations takes up a lot of data, and as such, I do not think that it is possible to provide it for any cheaper, without sacrificing major functionality. If I could provide it for $1, I would. (And that's not just out of my kindness, I'd get more sales!) However, I do not think that $3 is too much for the functionality of an inline dictionary for your eBook reader. Going to the book store and buying a paper dictionary would cost you $10+, so I think that it's fair to charge 30% of that for a more convenient format, without being too outrageous.

As for the conjugation problem, essentially you have to deal with the fact that there is a 50MB limit on the dictionary size, but a near infinite number of ways to conjugate a given Esperanto word. As such, the dictionary does not list every single conjugation of every single word. How I chose which conjugations to keep and which not to keep, well, I can't tell my competitors too much.
