Are there any affordable copies of this book?

I checked Amazon.com and there, an used copy would cost about $1,000!

Is this book out of print?

Are there any PDFs available of this book?

Jordan has the whole book online at his website: http://weber.ucsd.edu/~dkjordan/eo/colloq/colloq.h...

I recently bought copy on the Esperanto-USA web store, current price $15 (US dollars). I highly recommend this book, because it has very effective explanation of Correlatives, and almost half the book covers various Esperanto words that English speakers may have trouble with.

I never understood why so many Amazon sellers do this. They take a cheap product, and price it at hundreds and thousands of dollars over a reasonable price. It's not just when something is sold out, either. You see this sort of thing all the time if you're willing to look far enough down the listings. It's not like anyone who is not clinically insane would ever purchase something like that.

Anyway, I got mine on Amazon for a reasonable price a little while ago, but I suppose that isn't very relevant seeing as bluemanshoe and rheotaxis posted good options.

Happy reading!

For many (used and new) books in English, I have had good success with Alibris. They list many booksellers in the English-speaking world, and a quick check (inventories turn over rapidly) showed me that they list an inexpensive used copy of Jordan's work. (Note: I have *NO* connection with Alibris or any of the booksellers who list with them.)

There are some good suggestions here. I would add that in general, it is worthwhile going to Esperanto conventions, where cheap used copies of Esperanto books are liable to be sold. Of course, that's not the only reason for going.

We (Esperanto-Asocio de Britio) have new copies for £12.10 (~$20 CAD). I'll confirm how much it would cost to ship a copy to Canada then get back to you.

Edit: You might be better served to get it from the USA, of course. Esperanto USA has it for $15 US. No idea about the shipping costs, though you'd think it cheaper over land than by air.

And not just at events anymore, Miland ridulo.gif We've just opened up an eBay seller account where we will place books (mostly second-hand ones, of which we have plenty).

Last time I looked in the office there were plenty of rarities on the used shelves, including several copies of the original Teach Yourself Esperanto, so expect some of those to be appearing on eBay soon.
