rmando:… I've noticed the correlatives (Kiel, Tiel, Kiam, etc) seem to have several meanings and aren't just question words to start a sentence. These seem to work like demonstrative pronouns- "That which doen't kill you makes you stronger", "He who hesitates is lost" …That's true. The "k-"-correlatives are used as interrogative and relative pronouns.
rmando:… Also, the command verb tense (lernu, havu, donu) takes on a different aspect when used after a subject- "Sxi havu la libron" seems to mean "Let her have the book." We don't seem to have anything similar in English, although it probably does in other languages. …You can express this with the auxiliary verb "shall" in English: "sxi havu la libron." ~ "she shall have the book."
