I have been looking for an esperanto flag patch for sometime and am unable to find one. Does anyone know where I can get ahold of one? What do you all do when traveling or in every day life to show you are a speaker?

Esperanto USA has some patches, pins, flags, etc. for sale as well.

I hope you don't mind if I be so rude as to ask you a question that is completely unrelated to the content of this thread... I took a look at your webpage and I saw that you have knowledge of Japanese. I am hoping to pick up some japanese, and I was wondering if you would direct me to some good resources that I might use to get a good start... Right now, I am a beginner with a vocabulary of about ten words or so, but I can speak Chinese and read hanzi (simplified) so that might help with the kanji. Thanks, and I hope this is not too offensive and rude.. And once again, sorry for being so far off topic.

Purrfecdizzo:FYI this kind of question is better put into a private message to Paul.pdenisowski:Hello Paul,Cfail0814:Hello all,Call me old fashioned, but I have a green star pin that I wear -- picture on my home page.

I also wonder if there are no car window stickers or bumper stickers for sale somewhere.
pdenisowski:I got one of those a few months ago, but I hardly ever wear anything that actually has a lapel. How do you wear yours (if not on a lapel)?Cfail0814:Hello all,Call me old fashioned, but I have a green star pin that I wear -- picture on my home page.

I don't wear much with lapels. You can wear lapel pins on a collared shirt or jacket, though. Or just put a pin on your jacket.
I used to have a flag pin on the lapel of my winter coat and a star pin on the collar of my fall coat. I think I took them off to wash the coats and never replaced them. It didn't much matter, I never met another Esperanto speaker that way, and I was seldom asked about it regardless.
If you simply let it be known that you speak Esperanto, it seems to be a fact that people spread around. I have gotten some teasing for it at previous jobs, on the negative side. On the positive to neutral side, I occasionally get a reaction of "oh my uncle used to do that". Someone randomly came up to me in my synagogue and told me he heard I spoke Esperanto, and I said yes, so apparently someone else at the synagogue told him, though I am not sure why this would be an interesting topic of conversation. That was probably more reaction than I ever got from years of having a flag pin on my coat.
