Is the Esperanto community really accepting of people who are different??

I think you missed the winky smile at the end of kasxperanto's statement. I don't think it was intended to be taken seriously and it was obvious that your previous rude statements were intended to mock, not to present serious advice.

In any case, kasxperanto's dark alley analogy was clearly an example intended to illustrate cases where we do fight back versus do not fight back, and I think you knew that, and you are intentionally derailing the conversation. Why? I have no idea.

I see you deleted the thread in which you personally were trying to defend / explain away statements from a user who was advocating violence against religious people. Why did you delete the whole thread? Don't you stand by your own statements that it was simply a misunderstanding???

It seems that in your world certain people are never wrong - only misunderstood. Let users speak for themselves.

Well, you're wrong again - here are his own words:

kasxperanto:> I have no illusions of grandeur, and certainly won't ever boast of my fighting skills, but I do carry a gun on my person and have sufficient skill with it to absolutely make them regret attacking me
Kind of hard to misunderstand that.

Hah, I was wondering when you were going to post this small fragment of my response to your private message.
My original statement was indeed a minor jest, but since you blew it out of proportion and took the time to personally mention that you were worried that I might get myself hurt or killed because of "Hollywood-type fantasies" about my chances, I elaborated for you. But it looks like your real intent here is to harass erinja (and the Lernu team in general).

If it gets me in trouble to mention that I will not stand by while someone attacks me or mine, so be it.

So, I think it's high time we all stopped feeding the troll.

And how is dredging this up constructive to the topic of this thread? That post was clearly (to me at least) about theocratic states and not about religious people themselves. Some people only read until they see one part of the post that they can commplain about or use to their own advantage in an argument (fallaciously, I might add).

It is clear to me that you really wish to be in the "erinja is a terrible admin" thread, and that is the only place most of your comments in this thread belong. Instead you hijack other threads to get more "viewers" for your bashing, and I will have no more part in this.

If you insist on continuing this pointless off-topic debate, I shall respond in the thread "Responses to voxclamantes' Off-topic Posts".

@yyaann
Indeed.

I think it was a misunderstanding, and I think there are bound to be misunderstandings when people communicate online (personal reactions can't be judged easily) and when people are not talking in their native language, and where people on the other side of the debate are intentionally taking things in the worst way possible and making a huge scene of how offended they are, and thereby make the discussion as intense and heated and insulting as possible. In that case, no, it's not possible to fix it, not when people are seizing on the mistakes of others as a method of trolling.

Congratulations. You seem to like stirring up trouble, and if you continue with this, then your current account risks getting deleted by an admin, though you seem to have been self-deleting up to this point.
