Is there a translation in esperanto for this word, English isn't my first language so I don't have a good idea of how could I mix existing esperanto words to create it either.

If I understand correctly, a freelancer is someone that works from his/her house on small projects. But domlaborantulo or domlaborulo sounds like someone who works on houses.

freelaance verb to sell your work or services to many different companies
freelancer or freelance noun a SELF-EMPLOYED person who does work for various companies
Three definitions by MacMillan English Dictionary (Oxford, 2006). So, not a konstruentreprenisto, or domlaborantulo, or domlaborulo... Maybee, sendependa or libera ĵurnalisto (etc). Literaly, freelance(r) is liberlanĉ(ist)o. How do you like this?

Wells (2010), page 264, provides the translation sendependa for freelance.

libera profesiulo is quite common; some say sendependa profesiulo; and a freelance journalist is libera ĵurnalisto.
