I'm really impressed that you seem to know which aspects of the new site would potentially come with payment and you know that people wouldn't pay it. It's especially miraculous since the team hasn't decided on any of these things yet - which aspects of the relaunched (still mostly free) site would come with payment and how much that payment would be. But you're probably right. If any aspect of the site at all came with payment, people would flee the site and go to sites that are 100% free for every single service.

That's probably why LiveMocha has been such a failure, because it offers a mix of free and paid services.

How could I know? I don't know. But there had been some considerations already long ago. Please tell more about the new things, if you can.

So there is some pagendaj (I honestly can't express that in English, I already searched dictionary) elements in new Lernu!. Let me tell you, that you won't earn more than peanuts without much larger user base. I remember, that I saw Lernu!'s expenses for one year. They were shockingly high. I understand that Esperantic Studies Foundation can't bankroll Lernu! with those amounts of the past indefinitely. But if one is realistic, you must reduce costs drastically. Can you provide us with relevant financial information?

(1) It seems contradictory to say you do not have much experience with Lernu's courses and yet have such strong opinions of them.

(2) 'Childish'? 'Stupid'? 'Idiotic'? The context and content of your comments aside, their tone is rude and insulting. This makes you look bad, detracts from any genuine point you may have to make and is simply just the wrong way to treat another person.

I had enough experience in my opinion at that time to say that. Ana Renkontas and Ana Pana are childish and bad. Mi estas komencanto is strange for a person, who just got to know about Esperanto. These experiences are years old though. There seems to be cultural difference between you and me. In my culture it is acceptable to say what you think. The most harmful is the Lernu!'s front page. Is the freakish video still there? (I have various blockers.)

My opinions are based on my experience. How can they be then baseless?

I don't mean that people who use this site are somehow stupid (of course also some stupid people use this site). But I know that the general "feeling" of this site has resulted many losing interest for Esperanto.

Most likely no laguage course or exam will ever bring up topics making the language fail (the EO horror-word "gepatroj" stops "working" if your family fails to follow the religious concept of family, and no better word exists in EO, I use the semi-horror-word "malidpersono" ). Thus, courses and exams always just do mirror the flaws of a language.
