I am slightly confused by the information I'm finding about the dates for the SES this year. Several sources list the 12-20th of July, but I also see the 17th-25th of August listed. The ikso site specifically lists the August dates.
Are there usually two events like this?
I am very excited to see this change, because I was going to have to miss attending due to being in a friend's wedding during the July dates. I'll be getting my passport in order now

Both dates are correct: there will be two SESes this year. One in Slovakia in July and one in Russia in August. You can read more on the SES websites. (Note that the websites, especially the Russian one, are not ready yet. A lot of text is going to be added and the current translations contain information about last year's SES.)

Is this the first time there are two events? If so, I seem to be fated to attend SES this year. I was looking for other events that I might attend this year when I came across a calendar listing SES in August.
The Esperanto version of the Russian sight does have more correct details. As far as I can tell only the announcement atop the Introduction page is correct for the English translation. The instruadoj and ekskursoj look very interesting.
I might attempt to learn some basic Russian...
