Use of "ili" for things, rather than people?

In English we use the pronouns "they/them" to refer to more than one object (that is, something which is not a person). For instance, "I have three books. They are on the table. I read them in the evenings." Do we use "ili/ilin" similarly in Esperanto? Thank you!

Yes, ili is the plural of ĝi as well as li and ŝi.
