Hello! I'm an intermediate-level Esperanto reader who would like to be able to listen to Esperanto-language podcasts, but when I start listening, it sounds like they are talking at warp-speed! Any suggestions? As I take care of a large family and keep a demanding professional schedule, I don't have any extra time for attending workshops, and my internet service is too slow for Skype - this is my "the kids are in bed and I have an hour of quiet time" activity, although I enjoy reading the news and writing to people in Esperanto. I've never watched any instructional videos or anything like that, but maybe there's a series that starts slow and works it way up. Thanks so much!

Saluton! Mi estas meznivela esperantisto, kiu dezirus aŭskulti kaj kompreni esperantajn podkastojn. Tamen, kiam mi komencas aŭskulti, mi ne komprenas, ĉar la parolantoj parolas rapidege! Ĉu vi havas helpemajn proponojn? Mi estas tre okupita, kun miaj infanoj kaj miaj laboroj. Ankaŭ, mi ne havas bonan interretservon por videoparolado. Mi neniam vidis instruajn videojn, sed eble iu povus sugestii kelkajn videojn, por lerni? Dankon!

Hi! Have you tried Radio Verda? (radioverda.com) They usually have pretty interesting programs and they read at a pretty relaxed pace. If it's still too fast, they also have transcripts which you could use to follow along and improve your listening ability.

I'm sure there are other great things out there, but that was the first to come to my mind.

Facila Vento uses simple texts and has 2 versions of audio, one spoken very slowly.

Take a look at the video course "Pasporto al la tuta mondo". It's available on YouTube. It does start slow and work its way up. My boyfriend watched through the course after he had already done a basic level book course, and it was a good introduction for him, for listening to spoken Esperanto. It progresses from simple Esperanto to normal Esperanto, and the speech starts out slow and reaches roughly normal speed by the end. The course has a running story, a bit like a soap opera, and at the end of each lesson, a teacher discusses (in Esperanto) the grammar that you learned in that lesson. My boyfriend found that if he felt like he didn't really understand much in an episode, he understood it much better if he watched it a second time, so even if you watched every episode twice, you could get through the 16 episodes in about a month.
