So I got an email from the site and more than half the words used in it can't be translated in the dictionary on the side of the page.
So far as I understand it "ricevi questa email per avvisarti che essendo passato molto tempo dal tuo ultimo accesso il tuo account sta per essere automaticamente cancellato" is mostly gibberish.
Did I get an email entirely in Italian or something?

I don't speak Italian, but according to Google translate, you have not logged in in a long time and your account will be deleted if you do not log in again.

The language thing might be a glitch of some kind. Once in a while when I come to Lernu my default language is changed to something other than Esperanto or English. I pause for a moment and put it back to Esperanto.

I think I've received emails occasionally from Lernu that are in a language I don't know. No idea why this happens.

okay well then in that case why have I gotten that message? I've been constantly logged in and going thru pages.

Hi

I'm not aware of a lernu e-mail that says that and I wonder if it was really sent by us or by some kind of spammer. If you still have the e-mail, can you forward it to me at erinja@lernu.net so I can take a look? Thanks.

(our e-mails regarding a period of inactivity say that you have been inactive for 30 days or more, and they invite you to return -- no threats involved)

Damn, it may be a scam? So, if the message has links don't click on any of them!

Just so everyone knows - this is the English version of the text of lernu's inactivity reminder e-mail. If you get an e-mail that doesn't seem like a pretty close approximation of this text in a different language, then I wouldn't suggest clicking a link in it, but you might want to forward it to me at erinja@lernu.net so I can take a look. As you can see, it doesn't contain any threats on account deletion. The sender is do_not_reply@lernu.net; the sender name will be different for different language versions, it essentially says "do not reply" in the language of the e-mail. for the record, I checked what the Italian version of the e-mail says, and it isn't at all what you received, though the Italian version makes it sound like we won't be able to send you further messages after this reminder, which isn't actually the case!
