I believe that the Lernu website is now very out dated, I am not saying that it is ugly or needs huge improvement, however since 2010 it has become abundantly evident that micro parties will be one of the major web users. Major websites before 2010 and after 2010 have been updating/ have updated their website to suite the needs of cell phones, so should Lernu!

Whether they invest into adding mobile compatibility to the website, or make Android and IPhone applications, something needs to be done, and I am also fairly certain that some of the dedicated fans of Lernu would help, and would invest into Lernu.App, or m.lernu.net, as it is annoying for me, and probably many others to have to use their PC, when they want to check their messages, or when they want to check the forums.

This would also help with Esperanto's and Lernu's popularity as it will appeal to the youngsters (like me), perhaps even a tablet/ IPad application!

I am sorry if I am coming off to harsh, or I sound aggressive, this is just one feature that really bothers me, and I feel that they are wasting a HUGE opportunity that could be very critical for the Esperanto movement, and that could help make lernu more user friendly and progressive.

As of the moment, when I search Esperanto on the play store, about ~270 ~results appear, of course their may be more, and the play store has just removed applications that are not compatible, anyway I feel that there could be more, and there should be more. Kids love games, and I am a big kid at heart and would choose a picture game over a crappy text based flash card game, their is a game on the market called Mia Amiko, or something like that, now the game is good, but it is does not work on my phone, well anyway, that is about the only game I can find.

So I also urge anyone who can make games, to make little crappy games or epic games in or with esperanto language support!

Thank you for your time! ridulo.gif

I will add a poll to see peoples opinion on the matter. (people do that right?)

For games you could contact the company that develops and say you want translated into Esperanto. For example if there are good games to learn English, German or Spanish, and could translate to learn Esperanto.
Ĝis!

What is "micro parties"?

FYI there has been mobile support in the works for years as far as I understand. I talk of course about the new lernu!-site, which is to be made from scratch, if I understood correctly. Launch was to be about before Christmas 2012, if I remember right.

As of right now, I am stuck using the computer version on my phone, which has a resolution of 320x260.

Right now, I am using my computer. Earlier this evening, I was using lernu.net on my iPhone without any difficulty. I browsed forums and chatted using the The Instant Messenger.

It is very slow for me. I am using a slower android phone, 2011 model. The instabr messenger does not work for me.. perhaps they could make a separate app for the instant messenger.
